Welded the ol' DMF

It was getting real sloppy but the clutch feels/pulls great. I was getting more and more worried about it coming apart so I figured what the heck, I'll try to buy myself some time. It had an inch or more of rotation play, I racked it to one end, cut up some filler rod about 3/16" dia. , keyed it around and ran a 3" bead in four spots around the edge with a wire-feed, using the flexplate mounts as a guide to try and keep it even or balanced. 1500 miles or so since with no problems, pulling a large horse trailer to a couple rodeos as well. It did immediately pick up the lug/drone at 1200 to about 1450 rpms just like my other one with the Valair SMF. Jay

I never thought of that. Instead mine came apart in Albuquerque and I finally stopped in Amarillo to have it replaced on my way to South Carolina. Not the best of trips. Real expensive too.
