Too open ended of a question.. much to choose from like tubing size, mufflers, and where it terminates.

Here's my rig: 390FE, Hedmans, 2.5-inch mandrel bent tubing through Moroso Spiral Flows, and terminating at a NASCAR-style boom tube exhaust tip in front of the right rear tire.

Flowmaster Delta 40's dual 3" with a 3" h-pipe, exit of your choosing.

(waiting for someone to tell him he'll lose low-end with this setup)

I think 3" is a little large for a 400 unless it built up

True. These rigs aren't high revvers. In principle, 3-inch tubing from the collectors into a dual inlet muffler with 2.5-inch single outlet is acceptable. Same with 2.5-inch tubes into dual inlet muffler with a single 2.25-inch outlet.

But hey, dual exhaust is much cooler and gives the rig street cred...

I'm a fan of 2-1 and single pack... but I have stock manifolds. If I had headers I would run dual packs

Is your truck 2wd or 4wd? If they are chassis exit (inside the frame) you have to contend with the trans crossmember first, your collectors are probably 4" to 6" or less from it right?

Dvrs side come over by the pass side pipe, and both down the r/h side of the xfer case (above the crossmember), then split one over to the other side.

Turn out in front of the rear tire, saves bends and pipe which ='s money saved. I hear Flow Master 40's are nice, but they are a little $.

Hooker has a decent 2 1/4" kit dual kit for. Its made to accept turbo muffs purchased separatly. Have a look at Summit.

If you have the side fuel tank both pipes will have to go down the passenger side, also have it start to turn out once above the axle so it will not be hanging under your gas tank.

That can clearance issues and makes for a PITA to drop the tank.....

Purple Hornies ought to sound nice?

A exhaust shop told me that you want to have the h pipe before the muffler, close to the engine. If the purple hornies you have are header mufflers, you can't have an h pipe.

Yes I agree with the the muffler shop said on placement of the H pipe, dought there is room at the collerctors due to the crossmember? Just get the pips past it and then H pipe it then put them PH's on there.
