Good one Clyde, it just dawned on me what that "special" tool is! LOL!!

Aero4E and Reever should henceforth be appointed Master Serpentine Belt Specialists and all future queries be directed to this memorable post.

Fan/Serpentine Belt Replacement

AW Shucks, I'm blushing.........

I can truly feel his frustration. That kicked my butt for about an hour. The Haynes manual is not really clear when it comes to that Dam**d Idler!

I did copy Clydes270's manual drawing for future reference though. It will come in handy in the future.

Can't wait to tackle putting wifes Aero back together on Sat. morning. Never did timing chain before. Looks pretty straight forward. Can't be as difficult going back as it was coming apart( compressor bracket).

I was beyond frustration! I was pi55ed to the max! I took that same belt off before while changing out my water pump. Funny how a piece of rubber could get the best of you. Aww well, $20 bucks wasn't bad at all.
Next obstacle is rear brakes and rear coils and fuel sending unit.
