I believe it also includes a trans-cooler, 7-blade trailer plug and a plug for a brake controller. The 4.30 trans seems to be rare from what I can tell. Mine has the 3.73 with a trans-cooler, the plug for the controller, and the extendable tow mirrors, but for some reason the hitch was missing. The wiring is back there to connect the 7-blade socket.

I've read some posts that the brake controller requires a relay that may need to be added. The consensus around here also seems to be to replace the trans-cooler that came from the factory with the stock cooler from the 6.0L diesels. Some seem to have a factory rear sway bar that I don't have. That might have been added after 2001. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm still pretty new to all this myself.

I have the tow package and mine came with the rear sway. Its an 04 though so it may have changed.

Do you have pics of the back of the X without the hitch? That is weird.

I really think it had one that was removed. I don't have any pictures of the frame area yet, but I snapped this one this morning. It needs a bath BAD!

Oh, it was removed. All X's came with a rear hitch with the 4 and 7 pin connector. I would try to find one in a junk yard. Since they come standard, they are going to be hard to find in the aftermarket.

I've got one, it's just on the extended plan to install it. Right now it's in the trunk of my Saturn. I've scraped the loose rust off of it and most of the powder coating. I need to enlarge the mounting holes since the one I found was apparently one of the early models with the M14 hardware. A local place quoted $70 for that and I'm thinking seriously about having them do it. There just aren't enough hours for everything I want to get done.

After that, I want to POR-15 the hitch and the frame before I fasten it. Already got the M18 hardware when that's done.

Almost definitely. You can get an idea of what to look for here if you want to check for sure.

I bought my X new and for some odd reason I wanted the paddle style(sport mirrors). Looking back, I have no idea why now. "01 Xs did not come with a rear sway bar. I put a Hellwig sway bar on mine and it made a HUGE difference in everyday driving. Best mod I've done to the X overall. I would just make sure that the rear is a limited slip rear and not an open diff.. If anything goes wrong with my rear diff, a Detroit TruTrac is going in in its place.

Yes it did. Mine is a 7.3L and I ordered it with the sport style mirrors(which was an option with the Tow package) and I ordered it without the rear entertainment center(which was absolutely stupid as my son says). But yes, it has the towing package which consisted of a transmission cooler, hitch(all had those), 7 way plug, adapter and wiring for brake controller. I have a 6.0 L transmission cooler sitting in my garage waiting to be put on as soon as I get the grill guard off to put on the new springs. But if I recall correctly, you could order the X's with or without the rear limited slip. I believe the diesels on;y came with 3.73 from factory, but I do know that the 5.4L and the V-10s had other options for the rear gears.
