After my recent turbo scare, I made the decision to sell her even though she felt like she ran better after the new turbo, it scared the crap out of me to say the least.
Since the only toys I have now are a Bass Cat Cougar FTD (bass boat) and a 4 wheeler, I decided to pick up a 2013 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited, which will haul my toys just fine. I "plan" to leave her pretty much stock, we will see how that goes
When we were in St. Croix for vacation, we rented a Jeep and the kids loved it. I owned a 97 Wrangler years ago and it was primitive to say the least. The 13 Rubi is amazing. Comfortable as all can be, Alpine Nav system/stereo, every option other than leather which I just don't want in a Jeep. I brought the Jeep home yesterday and my son said, "this is the best day ever!".
Am I going to miss that big beast of an F250, yes. I did her up right and received more compliments on that truck, it was unreal. I remember going to the Bass Pro Shops opening in Peoria and parking next to Tony Stewart's NASCAR, I had a swarm of people come look at the truck, more than the NASCAR The AC seats were one of the best features to make it to a non Bentley.
Anyways, I met some great people on here and will stop in from time to time. I appreciate everyone's help throughout my time here. There are some great people on FTE.
I also have a few performance parts to list if anyone is interested. Here are a few pics of the Rubi.
"It's a Jeep Thing" that is don't understand but that's why we live in a the United States of America. You can buy and sell your truck any time you want. I am still waiting for my mortgage to be paid as we were promised!!!
Nooooooooo! Sorry to see you go but I think the guys here that know you have a feeling you'll be back! Good luck man...stay in touch. Good luck with the Rubi
Will do brother. I may get another truck in the future if I get something big enough that needs to be towed. It's hard stepping out of the diesel community, its been a big part of my life for several years thats for sure.

Gavin, yes it happened, I know, I know. You never even got to see her in person and we live pretty damn close. You have to love "busy".
On a side note, I have a brand new fuel filter assembly with your name on it. Maybe an oil filter as well, I just can't remember if I have an extra or not.
Thanks Steve!
OK, I'm over the initial shock of the news...deep breath...if I had to get rid of my SD...another deep breath...the only two vehicles that could fill the void would be...deep breath... a Shelby or a Rubi. In my book a Jeep is not a Dodge. Good choice, I'm sure you will be happy with it. When we were in Moab this spring, I watched the Rubi in the pic go up and down Hell's Gate and up the Escalator and made it look easy in a rather pedestrian looking Rubi. Yes, the guy had lockers...and a few other goodies...
Wow Steve, sorry to see you go. I've done the same thing, and I always tend to get back into a truck in the end. But I also get bored with just about every vehicle I've ever owned.
I hope you enjoy the new Jeep, and be sure to drop by from time to time. Someone once said this place is like Hotel California, where we come to check in but can never leave.
Hate to see that truck leave.
I know you'll pop in so I won't worry about that.
If a truck like this is going to be lifted, yours is a great example (as are others here) to doing it right and the results showed it.
If you put that jeep to use, share a few pictures in that "well it happened" thread someday.
I rented/drove a Rubicon around when I was in Alaska last month and had fun.
Went thru some mud, bottomed it out a few times in some deep holes (oops, yes I was going slow) and it kept us safe.
Thanks Steve!

The Rubi's are pretty capable stock. Front swar bar disconnect, lockers, Dana's, etc. She is built pretty well. I go in for surgery on the 21st and will be at home for some time which should make it easier to get these parts to you.

Thanks Tom, you are a great mod her eon the 6.7 forum for sure. I always appreciated your help. I will be in from time to time to see what's going on and what Darren32 is messing up for the week

Thanks man, Darren32 inspired this truck and emptied my wallet at the same time! I always received a ton of compliments on her wherever we went. It will be interesting to see who owns her next and if she pops up on the forums.
I don't know how you couldn't have one in CO! I agree completely, you need one. We usually make a CO trip every summer but didn't this summer. Next summer we will be back out! You live in the most gorgeous continental state period. Estes park is my fav area although a little busy now.
yeah...try and convince the wife we need a forth vehicle She is still trying to get me to sell my STI. I would probably have to sell the TT and the SD and buy a class A with a Jeep toad...no thanks for that money outlay right now. ;-)
I just moved back here but, remembering when I lived here before, in my '90 Cherokee up at elevation...I was with a buddy of mine and he had a brand new 4x4 Ranger and me in my 12 year old XJ. He went to navigate a section of rocky off-road and couldn't make it up. I put it in 4 high and just crawled right up, no problem (all stock except for Rancho 9000's). I miss that Cherokee...if it didn't turn out to be an electrical and leaking nightmare, I'd still have it. I would love to have a proper Jeep though. Imagine how many mods I could have fun with :day_dreamer:
