Pitted Door Handles
Hi,
The picture attached shows what my outside door handles currently look like. Is there anyway for them to be repaired and rechromed? They are original to the truck and would like to keep them if at all possible.

It aint worth your time or money. A chrome shop will want $300 to rechrome those due to the pits, it takes a lot of bench work to get them nice and time is money!
There are NOS ones from time to time on the bay and the repops are very nice and priced right!

Any good chrome place can fix those and re-chrome them. But it will cost you quite a bit more then the reproductions you can buy.
If you want the originals repaired I wouldn't do anything to them yourself. Let the chrome place handle it. What you think might be helping might cause the shop more work which means more cash out of your pocket.
If keeping the original handles is really important to you have them fixed, re-chromed. If not just order a pair of reproductions.

Thanks! I guess I'll try to find some NOS. Are there any sure way to tell the difference between repop and NOS? Does the repop have the Ford script on the back?
