It would be hard to get that kind of money out of any truck this vintage but it IS a truly stunning truck! You never can get anywhere near for a truck what you have into it if you do a full restoration!

We definetely aren't building these to make money on them. That is for sure! The only way to do decent on a project money wise is to buy one that has most of the hard/expensive work done and finish it up.

The owner is either a bald faced liar or has lost his memory.

Utterly impossible for two reasons:

1) 1968 was the last year for Mercury trucks (most or possibly all were assembled August/December 1967).

2) Due to tariffs that existed back then between the US & Canada, 1946/68 Mercury trucks were only assembled and sold new in Canada!

When the tariffs were abolished in late 1967, Mercury trucks were cancelled as were the Ford trucks only assembled and sold new in Canada for the Canadian market.

1961 Mercury grilles are unique, 1962/66 (1967/68) same as Ford grilles.

1961's have either painted steel grille (Standard Cab) or chrome steel grille (Custom Cab) with MERCURY within it. The upper grille panel is plain.

1962/64's have either painted steel grilles (Standard Cab) or anodized aluminum grilles (Custom Cab). The upper grille panel has MERCURY chrome block letters on it.

AZPartsLocators Are you a sponsor? Is this a parts locator business?

I can't seem to find you under Venders.

Does (AZ) mean like Arizona? Or like parts from A to Z? Or maybe both?

And X2 on what ND said about a 70 Merc truck. It would have to be a clone.

Well I don't know how it got imported but I DO know it was not a clone and sold here new! Even had the original Sunland Mercury sticker. MERCURY tailgate. Truck was old and faded and had ORIGINAL paint. Like I said this guy bought it NEW. I will see if I can find my picture of it somewhere. I only have one of the back and now somehow the truck is gone. Should have tried to buy it when it was still there! That being said it could have been a 68. I do know he said he had to replace the grill with a newer one back in the day because some debris from the freeway hit it.

I should also add that I am FAR from an expert on Ford products. We have had a few in the family over the years and I really like the 72 and older vehicles. I do however feel I am somewhat knowledgeable on original vehicles and can tell if something has been messed with. Maybe Sunland Mercury ordered the badges and tailgate from Canada and sold it that way. I do know it had not been messed with since new.

It is a business but it is just out of my house . Just what I enjoy doing as I haven't ever really been able to get it made into a business with a warehouse or storefront. Would like to but with the current economy it is tough. I am in AZ and do parts for all model vehicles. Some things I keep in inventory when I can find them that are regular sellers like 9" traction lock 3rd members and 78-79 Ford truck tilt columns but the rest of the stuff I just try and find if people need it. Haven't tried to sell anything on here yet but hope to soon. Like I said I DO really enjoy it and it is kind of a treasure hunt finding what customers are looking for.

Well Bud ya do need to read the Forum rules. If a Mod see's this thread ya could have some problems. There is a right way to do what yer doing on here and it aint that hard to do. But the consequences of not doing it right and in line with the rules Just aint worth it. All I'm sayin is please read the rules as I think ya may have a good thing for some of us and I would hate to see ya get in trouble.
