Hello, I need help. My truck is leaking coolant out the driver side buy the radiator just enough to drain off the degas tank only & only after a long drives. I can't find where it's leaking from , it only leaks some times & only after 20 or more mile trip or after under a load. No smoke or loss of power. can this be EGR valve? I hope it not my head gasket.
I would suspect a hose or clamp or the radiator it's self. If it ONLY up front by the radiator I wouldn't think EGR or headgaskets are related.
Welcome to FTE!
Well I have replaced the rest of the cooling system recently and it looks like it is the radiators turn this time. The real question I have is Tousley. It is $240 + shipping from them or I can get it from my local dealer for about $310 my concern is damage during shipping and shipping costs,,, it adds up real quick when you have to start returning parts.... has anyone here shipped something like a radiator....
Glad you found it! I been lucky as far as radiator issues, but there's a good aftermarket unit for a reasonable price available that drops in with no mods, and it's all aluminum (no plastic tanks on the top and bottom). Maybe someone can post up the info on it.
strangely enough i have been battling the exact same problem as of late...ARGH! has been sooo frustrating, huh, it must be the egr, replaced, it must be the head &/or bolts, NOT.. still happened. Believe i have just a small enough leak, just enough to cause drama on a road trip..
Have you researched a decent replacement? or going with OEM?
There was one available from autozone for $310 that was made by Spectre that was supposedly a drop in for both manual and auto transmissions but the one from ford was 310 for auto and $750 for standard.... since I was not sure of the differnences and as I get older the amount of tolerance I have for doing 3 runs to the parts department has decreased significantly.... so I decided to go with OEM.... if you all have run the aftermarket and it's good.... well I will reconsider....
