I can hardly believe it, after three full weeks of callling, waiting, and arguing with my salesman he finally found out a possible delivery date for my new truck listed below. He said that it has already been built, but he does not know at which plant. If it was built in the KC plant it will be here in two days, if built at the Kentucky plant it will be the middle of next week. I am really hoping for the KC plant because I really would like to have it this weekend because it just happens to be my weekend off. With my usual luck though I am sure that I will have to wait until next week. Oh well I guess, at least I know that it won't be much longer.
Well hopefully your truck arrives soon because I am sure you can't wait to drive it. On another note, don't give your dealer to much trouble for it because unfortunetly they as well as you are at the mercy of the factory. This is something the consumer doesn't realize and it is as much of a pain for consumer as it is for the salesperson.
I do realize that the dealer is at the mercy of the factory, honestly. The reason that I was miffed at the salesman is that he was able to get the info for me, however he told me several times that he just did not have time to get it. This was after several times with him telling me to call back in about 30 min or call me back tomorrow, that he promises to have the info and when I would call it was always the same thing, " Sorry I have just been to busy to find out for ya" I really don't think this should have gone on for three weeks. This is why I was so irritated. Does not seem like very good customer service at all, especially since this will be my third new truck from this same salesman.
Well, I do know that my current F250 was built in Kentucky, however, my parents just received their 03 F350 King Ranch, that they ordered in April, and it was built in Dearborn. This is what their salesman told them. I guess because it is a limited run, they even got a "birth certificate" with it that says built in Dearborn. Yes it even really says Birth Certificate right on it and gives a date. It is done up all fancy like too. But who knows for sure all I can go by is what my salesman told me. Does anyone know out there?
Just so I understand, how long ago did you order this truck? I'm interested because I just ordered mine last week. The dealer tells me 6 - 8 weeks on average but has seen them show up in as little as 5 weeks.
Well, to be totally honest with you I can't tell you when it was actually ordered. As you can see from my previous post my salesman has not been that great. I called and told him to order it for me on the last Friday in March. When I was having trouble trying to get the info from him he told me that he couldn't remember when he ordered, just that he did in fact order it. So it was some time around there. Like I said earlier this will be my third truck from him and every time his customer service gets worse. There is more to the story then just not telling me when the truck would come in but to long to really tell in here. This will absolutely be the last time I ever deal with him period.
So Arkansas truck man are you going to drive the new truck to the mid america shelby meet in tulsa? I am just kidding you heck I don't even know you but I looked at your location and interests and they parallel mine and I always go. If it is not to much trouble email me back on the milage on the new truck. You have ordered what I am planning on buying here in the near future. I would love to hear a feedback on your opinion of the truck since you are right in my back yard. Enjoy your new truck, and really consider going to mid america if you have never been before its a real spectaters sport. That is really great about the interests thing. I would love to go to the Shelby meet in June, the last time I was able to go was back in 96 I really loved it. Unfortunately, the job that I work at requires me to work every other weekend and it just happens to always be my weekend to work. Last year I was amazed because I looked and saw that it was actually the weekend I was off. I then realized that it was Father's Day weekend, my parents were in from Oregon, even though my Dad loves Mustangs as much as I do (They have a 66 Shelby clone, 72 Coupe w/351C, and a 2001 Cobra Convertible) I had planned to have a special get together with the rest of the family so again it was a no go. I know what you are thinking, "What about vacation?" Well, I would take it but for some reason everybody and their brother always wants that weekend off too. Oh well I am sure that I will be able to get to it sometime again in the next 10-15 years. As for the mileage on the truck, I imagine that it will not be much different then what I get now in my current truck. I have a 2000 SD, V-10, Auto, 4.30 LS, Lariat, Long Bed, Super Cab. It is the same truck as the new one only not CC. I usually get between 10-14 around town, depending on the gas and how I drive it. I drive a lot of fast short bursts because I am a volunteer FF and First Responder. The last two years I have gone to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and averaged 16 mpg. this was figured by actual mileage and gallons of gas put in, not by the over head computer so I am sure that it was accurate.

Sorry to hear about not being able to go. It is a anual trip for my brother and I, kinda a boys time out. Thanks for the superduty information. The more I hear from real world users the less I fear the v-10. I have the bug bad right now but I have to wait 6 months till we can get some serious down payment money together as my wifes job is looking like it may fall victim to the chinese import crap. I don't want to get one then loose it over payments and tight budget. Best of luck to you with the new SD and thanks for the insight on milage. Sharps-Nut
