2000 Ford Explorer Sunroofleak

Hello. I need help since my local Ford dealer has trouble with my sunroof. After a series of no starts we figured out that the sunroof seal was defect, thus allowing leakage: water to make its way onto the CB box causing shortouts. Now, the dealer says that the sunroof seal cannot be replaced because of a defect in manufacturing of the sunroof outer rim itself??? They tried it apparently twice to put on a new seal, but it does not fit at one particular place along the rim- can anybody help? Thx a bunch..

Is it OEM or Aftermarket? Might want to ask the local aftermarket sun roof installers what they think of it. Worst case would involve welding, but they might find another sunroof that would fit in the original hole and seal.
