My 99 V10 has 145k on it now and starting to need new coils, replaced 3 with the $95 ones, I got two more going bad, anybody recommend a good any good after market ones with lots of spark for the smaller $
I'm on the hook for new coils (desperately) I need 10 of them, and since I don't have $800.00 right now for new Motocraft coils I'm going to have to turn to the aftermarket.
I've read some good reviews on uneeksupply.com ignition coils. I can get 10.00 for around $100.00 with a lifetime warrenty (I know, lifetime warranty's mean you spend a life time changing them) but with some positive reviews and for $100.00 I'm willing to take a chance.
If your interested I will report back about the experience with uneek's coils.

Glad I checked the springs, when I removed the boots to check on the springs two of them were lose and needed pressed on better and one of the springs came out with the boot!
Now I just got to wrap some things up here at the house and then find 30-40 minutes to change the coils (trying to isolate a miss in a modular motor will make you an absolute PRO at changing coils.)
Here are a few pics of the old coils installed in the truck
Here is the passenger side bank with $160.00 worth of Accel coils.. Ahhh Not sure they are part of the problem, but with all the bad results (like fried ECM's etc) on the forum I wanted to get these out.
First results with the UneekSupply coils are positive. The truck drives like a new truck. Very strong, no miss, woo hoo. Running around with a truck missing, I would absolutely change out with these coils again.
Your engine sure is clean. I was told never to wash my 6.8 engine, nor any of my 5.4's as the water on the plugs/coils will make them go bad. I have a really clean truck outside but my engine is very dirty. On my old 7.3, I would Simple Green the engine, wait about 20 minutes, and then gently wash with a garden hose. Worked great, but I have never had the nerve to do that on my V-10. What's your secret?
Pap, I don't really believe in hosing down motors either. What I do is just take some damp shop towels and wipe everything down that I can get too. I use those armor all protectant wipes on the rubber and plastic parts.
It just takes time. That reminded me that it's time to do it again.
I put in a set of UneekSupply coils at 106,000 miles. about 4 months ago at 110,000 miles one of them went bad. luckily I kept one of the good original coils so I replaced the bad one. I contacted uneeksupply and they told me they had a life time warranty and to send back the bad one. I did that but still have not received the replacement. I sent them an email in february asking when the replacement was going to be sent. They said it was and they would check to see where it was with the post office. I totally forgot about the coil until today. I still have not received it so I sent another email to them. I will post when get a replacement.
