2001 F150 Digital odometer light
I see this is not an uncommon problem. the odometer light turns on and off (mostly off) and seems to be getting worse. THe repair shop I go to said its a dealer item and they usually send them out to a specialized shop, the dealer said replace instrument cluster, $500+. I may not be the best but I would like to try a few things before I shell out the money. I raed that it may simply be the connections at the Instrument cluster plugin which might just need cleaning, read another fix which involved Pencel soldoring Cold Solders on the instrument clusters circuit board. Any suggested fixes would be greatly appreciated

+1 on the solder job. I had the same problem on mine, soldered up the end connection (which I could see a tiny hairline crack in) and issue solved. It is really easy to do, the dash comes apart easily. The only tricky part is getting the cluster our over the steering column.
