Actually isn't that loud at high rpms. At 2600 rpm (high as I go in the video), its not that much louder than my glasspacked exhaust that I have now at WOT. I personally love the sound of the second idle, at 600 rpm... But thats just me
oh yeah, i'm deffinitely going to do that at least until i get my duals, but i'm sure it's gonna sound way better than the old stock muffler exhaust thanks for the video
dual straights sound awsome!!!
there is a sound ordinance where i live so i installed a couple super 10's just to claim i do have mufflers when they pull me over again.....
the biggest draw back to straight pipes is the decreased gasmilage, you just try to keep your foot out of the petal, i dare you!!!
I think straight pipes sound like ****. A set of short bullet mufflers sound much better and actually give it a bit of a tone instead of just being obnoxiously loud.
In the long term I really don't like it. Bad resonance in the cab, obnoxiously loud going through town, ect. Gets on my nerves. The glasspack I have now sounds amazing, is quiet at cruising speed, but rumbles at wot.

I agree. There's a guy that runs down the road past my house everyday with a '90-something Ford. I keep threatening to cut his injector harness until he puts mufflers on it. Just because you like it, doesn't mean the rest of the world does. In a small town, it won't take long to figure out where everyone stands on your exhaust.
As a side note, your engine was designed to run with a certain amount of back pressure. You will actually LOSE performance with NO back pressure. It's been proven many, many times.
As far as single exhaust, I think it sounds better. Especially with a 400. Headers into single 4" with a flowmaster is one of the sweetest sounds you will ever hear.
I'm all for loud, by when you cross over into harsh and obnoxious, that's another thing altogether.
ya had a 351 windsor its just to load. truck is sitting now. have to admit sounded pretty cool in the winter time till it warmed up with the big cam and all.
