torque converter recommendations
i have a 76 f100 with a 360 (in phase two of the build it will be a 390 or 428, so keep that in mind) and its a daily drive that runs the mud every weekend....well i tried to put a b&m shift improver in my trans(c6)...i think i got gravel in the vavle body that i can't get out....so it slip really bad and doesn't shift on its own. since each time i droped the pan i found a little mound of fine grit (clutch i'm assuming) built up on the bottom of the pan. i'm going to go ahead and replace the trans and start all over...my question was if you guys had suggestions for what type of torque converter i should put on while i'm in there. I was reading around and i found a towing/rv converter from tci that had a good torque multipication rate but then evened out to 1:1 or i was thinking along the lines of a saturday night special converter with a 1500 stall. but what i was really hoping to find out is what everybody is running and how they like it, my truck only really sees mud and sand offroad but needs to be highway worthy too.
