Help!!
Project: Swap 1997 7.3 powerstorke into my 76 xlt crew cab.
Problem: Started removing wiring (that I thought I wasn't going to need) from donor 97 F350. I removed only headlight, turn and parkin lights from the front and horn.
Before removing wireing the donor truck started up fine. I don't think that the wire removal has anything to do with why the truck will not start.
I tried starting the truck with the main batttery (which was very low on juice) tried to crank but couldn't. Installed auxilairy battery and truck cranked fine but would not start.
What logical diagnostic procedures can I follow to deternmine where the failure is? (pump, harness,???)

Some wiring diagrams from 97 may be helpfull. these were a sticky at the top of the main page but someone thought it was a good idea to totally bury them so... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post11383134 the diagrams give the actual locations on the chassis where things are grounded.

I wasn't looking for smoke so I did no notice. I'll try cranking it tomorow to check for smoke.

I've had several occasions where my truck seems to turn over fine but just will not start. In every case I put a charger on the truck for a while and then it started up fine. Unlike any gas vehicle I've ever owned these trucks really need the batteries to be in a good state of charge to get the motor to fire but they're still good enough to turn it over.

Happy days are here again!
