Continuing with the theme of every damn thing breaking on my truck, i figured I'd take the opportunity to show you guys what i dealt with last month. I was sitting at a stop sign before a stop light leaving work on a friday, payday weekend. The light was about to turn yellow and me being me decided to go for it. Dropped the clutch a little fast and BOOM, CLANG CLANG Hopped out and saw the debris of what was left. Ujoint caps everywhere part of my pinion yoke were about 10 feet to the side Heres what i found underneath.
Had to get the pinion yoke from Ford. I got one from the junk yard but when i go home and cleaned it up i noticed it had bad wear marks around where the seal goes so i decided to replace it. My buddy does drivelines so he gave me a great deal on building me a new one. But now i can tell people that she's got so much power she spits ujoints and eats drivelines left and right!
It was on an 8.8, so I had to reset the pinion, pinion bearing as well. they went out and everything else did.
Thank god for 4wd. Drove it to the guys house I was going to work on it at and just made a cap for the t-case and taped it on. Drove in 4wd for the day to get parts.
Found a local shop there that did drive shafts and got the driveshaft from my 91 from the guy I sold it too, he gave it to me. Thankfully.
After 180$ I had a driveshaft for my truck.
All spicer parts.
Good luck ever finding the right driveshaft in the junkyard, they dont label them. in michigan. haha.

My buddy used all Spicer parts and only charged me for the parts at $160 but it ended up being 220 because i sure as wasn't going to make him work for free. Still cheaper than a shop.
