3inch lift

I am dropping in a 302 in my 84 f150 with a 3 inch body lift 2wd.... would it make much sense to drop the lift? would there be much of a difference in perforemance.... because there is really no point in the lift..... just looks I guess

I would leave the lift on. They are almost as much of a pain to get off as they are to put on. Unless it is bothering you for some reson.

the difficulty in adding a body lift depends on how cooperative the bolts are. have a cutting tool ready but watch those gas tanks for the old bolts. modify the fan shroud, such a lowering bracket. you'll have to pull the interior carpet back a bit to get to the two center cab bolts which requires removing a bit of interior molding. the bed bolts have traditionally given me the most hassle because if they are stock the tops will often rotate. have a partner ready to hold the other end of these bolts. loosen up your steering shaft coupling so it can slide a bit. i'd plan on half a day at least.

i didn't like the look of the 3" lift because it leaves quite a gap between the front bumper and body. a 2" looks much better if you really want to go a bit higher.
