Bought it!!
After posting my only thread, I ended up getting my 05 SD with the 5.4 it's got a 2.5 level kit up front ride right bags out back, and kn CAI DIABLO tuner and rides on 35 in shoes.....so far, I love this truck!!

welcome to FTE!....Nice... I also have the 5.4 super duty.. its agreat truck despite what most peolpe say about it not being a deisel.. I have no need for a deisel so I opted for the gasser.... Any pics?

Welcome to FORD. Even the straight 6 trucks were great trucks. Today we are all about more more more. Yep I even have a 7.3 sd Dually but I used to haul 15-20000 pounds. Truck wasn't even rated for it. I am amazed at what Ford still can do.
Look around the parking lots and see all the asphault off-roaders. Trucks lifted tweaked and pushed for 2 weeks a year play time. THen they commute in a truck no longer suited for work as it is too high or too low to do the job. If it makes you happy then it is a great deal. If you smile while it is in your driveway no one else can say it is a bad deal.
Enjoy and play hard with your new truck.

The 5.4 is a great motor. That basic design was one of the longest and most widely used engines in Ford history. Granted there were slight changes vehicle to vehicle and year to year, but it was in everything from the Mustang, to SUVs to the F550! In 2001, the 5.4L was named one of Ward's Auto World's "Ten Best Engines" for the fifth year in a row.
By no means should you hate on your motor! The fact that its a 3V paired with a great transmission just makes it even better!

Have fun with your new truck. Also Welcome to FTE any problems we will try our best to help you out. Also even if it isn't a problem we love to see you showing of your truck with all the other superduty fans no matter what engine 7.3,6.0,6.8 V10, 5.4, 6.4, 6.7, 6.2, you get the point. HAHAHA
