Silly Starting Problem
My 1994 F150 with a 5.0 engine has developed an annoying starting problem lately. In the mornings after its rained or been foggy, the truck is hard to start. It turns over just fine but won't start. Eventually, it WILL start - but I either have to walk away and let it sit for 30 min or crank it with the gas pedal to the floor because it seems like its flooded. Once it starts, however, it runs fine and will always re-start even after a short drive to the grocery store.
I'm thinking its just the ignition wires, because in any other condition (hot or cold) it starts fine on cold starts. Any other suggestions?

Silly Starting Problem
Sounds like you may have a hairline crack in your distributor cap. Moisture gets in it and shorts out two plug terminals. When it dries out you have no short and the truck starts.

Silly Starting Problem
I have the same exact problem with my truck....Just recently with all the rain I went out & started her up. She was idling fine until it just stalled. It would just keep cranking like it was flooded...sure enough the next day it started right up. I too am going to put in a new cap rotor, & wires
