Bolt it on, hook up the lead to the positive on the battery. Viola' your done.
Of course you will lose your idiot light, but just install a voltmeter instead and you will actually be able to see if it is charging and by how much.

1 wire alternators
I installed a one-wire alt, it works great. The only glitch I ran into is that I needed to add a 14GA jumper wire from my "B1" post to the "ALT" post on my isolator. I have the two seperate battery setup in my pick-up. Go for it.
