Funny when it's not your truck.
As seen at a rest area on the Inidana Turnpike. I believe this is refered to as Found On Road Dead. Quite the tow truck there, I hope they made it home OK.

I believe that's called exceeding the tow rating.

Looks like this is our "off-topic" chat thread now?...Since all the state chapters have "BS threads to not clutter the specific topic threads...hopefully we can have an "OT" thread here to just BS with...if not...I know Stewart or Toreador will close this one and let us know...
Well we're still on vacation...
Yesterday we had another great day.
We went down to a ranch south of here for a beautiful trail ride. This wasn't your traditional trail ride either...it was just Mia, Zoe, myself and the owner and her husband on a nearly 2.5 hour ride through a pretty challenging area of steep declines and ascents.
We also played a game of "leap frog"...where the trailing horse trotted around all the other horses and took the lead...then the new trailing horse did the same...and so on and so on...
We trotted through some pretty wide open meadows too.
How many trail rides do you know that let you get OUT of line and do your own stuff?...not many!...we had a blast!
Here's some pictures of us on the horses...
Here's a couple of the hills with loose terrain...you can see the horse's footing
One more of a descent
Then we enjoyed a place in Hot Springs SD...a Mammoth Site where they have uncovered the remains of 60 different Mammoths since 1974!
Their theory is that a large sink hole formed and then filled with water from the underground spring...the mammoths would use the hole for drinking and over a period of 300-700 years some would "slip in" and be trapped and die...over time the spring that was feeding the watering hole would cause sediment to bubble up and cover those that had slipped in and buried the bones...what they are uncovering now is just the top 20' of the sink hole and they have a drilled core sample that shows bones down another 40+ feet!
Here's a picture of some of the bones in the dig site...this is a ACTIVE place for digging!
It was a very cool place to visit for sure!
We ended the evening by meeting up with some fellow FTE'rs.
Cowboywannabe (Rob - center) and RushmoreX (Trent - right)
We had a nice time together chatting about all kinds of stuff. We then had a nice steak dinner with rice and veggies that I cooked outdoors and we followed it up with a delicious apple pie that Rob's wife had made and he transported on his Harley from the other side of SD...it was a very nice day for sure!
The girls are still sleeping and today we'll go to visit Jewel Cave just west of here...it should be a relaxing day today.
Tomorrow we'll pack up and pull over to Wall Drug and then set up camp at the Badlands and go tour them...it will be much hotter over there so we've only got one night over there.
Then we'll start making our way eastward over a 2 day period and hopefully make it home by Wednesday late afternoon.
I've altered our route home to avoide Chi-Town...I'm not dealing with that again...so I'll stairstep myself from I-90 to I-80 in Iowa and we'll spend one night in Waterloo Iowa on Tuesday night...
Hope everyone is doing well.
Our long travels are quickly coming to a close.
Hope you have enjoyed viewing our pictures as much as we've enjoyed taking them!
Talk to everyone soon.
Joe.

It has been an awesome experience traveling too and through 41 states thus far with our kids...we've seen so much of this amazing country doing it.
It has taken me 47 years to have been in 41 states and my girls are 13 and 15 and can say they have done it already!!!...
Traveling with an RV around the country allows so much freedom...it is a great way to spend time as a family...even with those inevitible "stressful" melt down times for everyone!
I pray that they do this with their kids some day...and hopefully you can do this with your family too!
Joe.

Why can't you do as I asked and just let it go. This game YOU are playing is getting very old and we (us Admin type folks) are tired of it.
Heck, you don't even have an Excursion and the guys you "chat/play" with regularly are in your chat thread in the General Conversation Forum.
LET IT GO.
