Get a reostat to plug your dremmel or die grinder into it. They sell for ~$10 at Harbor Freight Tools. It was mandatory for my learning to port. I am not saying how much skill I have acquired but I don't do anything with the grinder but what I intend to do. I am in control mostly because I could slow the tool down to get through my learning curve.

My dremel is older than I am but I'm gonna borrow my friend's, his has speed control. Just picked up my saginaw pump and bracket from a junkyard today! Between the pump and 160amp 3g alternator from rjm, I'll take care of two of the might-as-wells of this rebuild. I got a 61mm BBK from fleabay for cheap, if it turns out to be too big for my needs I'll put it up for sale at cost.

Conaski, you've got me worried about this truck intake. What is involved in adapting the car style setup you're running, costs involved etc.? I'd hate to do all this and still have a choked motor that can't breathe for $@*# but I haven't found any reference material so far that shows what's involved or how to set it up properly(most info was putting 5.8 in a stang, not the other way round). Pics would be very appreciated.

All the 5.0/302 EFI intakes flowed pretty good. You could buy the intake adapter for $200/$300 to put one on your 351W.

The GT40 was Ford's solution. You could go on Ebay and find a GT40 lower for a 351W/5.8L and a GT40 upper(which most likely came off a 5.0L).

You could do what Conanski has said which is to get a Proffessional Products EFI upper and lower intake.

Finally there is the Edlebrock Intake. It is everything the Proffessional Poducts intake is crakced up to be. It only cost more. However, I have seen Edlebrocks go for practically the same price as Proffessional Products intakes on Ebay.

That is exactly whay I'm telling you NOT to buy another truck intake, those super long runners start to become a choke point at any engine speed above the stock range... about 3500-4000rpm, and that's on a motor with the stock displacement not even a stroker. There have been several guys here build 393 and 408 strokers with the Edelbrock truck intake and they were all dissapointed with the results and in the end replaced it with something with bigger and shorter runners like the TFS-R. One guy even called Edelbrock and they made it very clear that those truck intakes were intended for STOCK motors not something with big heads and definitely not a stroker. So like I said if you're building a 357 with AFR 185s or something then go with a regular Performer with the short runners(all you need is the upper if you already have the truck version), but if this is gonna be a stroker then you want something bigger like the TFS-R. You need a matching 70-75mm single throttlebody for those or maybe a 90mm for the stroker, but other than that the only other thing needed is a car style throttle cable which was also used on the Explorer and Ligntning so it's available new or used at the junkyard.
