352 pi heads

Is there any advantage in using a set of 352 Police Intercepter heads instead of stock 360 heads for a 390 build up?

I wouldnt advise this because the 360 and 390 both have a bore of 4.05 while the 352 has a bore of a flat 4 inches. The advantage however would be more compression. You can achieve this with your 360 heads by milling them to give you1/2 a point more while the 352 pi heads have morethan that but you could use new pistons if you look around, most auto performance catalogs should have some listed. If you still have the 352 that the heads came off ofwould make a good mill.

What does the bore have to do with 352 heads? I know cj valves wont work on 4.00" and alot of 427 valves wont work on 4.05". Alot of people on this site are runnin C4AE heads which are o.e. to 352's and 390's. I'm not sure but I think the intakes are 2.03" or 2.05". I've seen some notches at the top of the cylinders to clear bigger valves, but that seems scary to me. What size are the valves on 352 pi heads?
