A year ago I purchased a 2008 Lincoln Navigator Elite. Has everything from power running boards to THX audio and voice activated navigation with rear-seat entertainment. The navigation unit has been, well, less than perfect and its something I've been living with. A family friend recently bought a brand new version of my exact Navigator except with the DVD based navigation system of course. I gotta say this unit is pretty sweet and I want it. I found the sync kit for select 2008 Navigator's but that doesn't give me the better HU. I have done a LOT of research and found people that put the 2010 Ford HU in a older explorer, mustang ect. but never found anything specific to my situation. Spoke to a local car audio store and according to them the "plugs" are the same from 2007-2010. I know there would be some minor reprogramming and I would have to install a seperate gps antenna. I've found a 2010 unit from a MKZ on ebay and to my knowledge it would fit and want to know if I should move on it. Has anyone done this before? Is this something that sounds possible?
