As this thread seems to have drifted away from the subject of Negative Reps being discontinued, into a disparagement of why persons give rep, I'm requesting the moderators take a look into the closing of it.
I'm rather taken aback that I have been singled out by name.
WOW. Paranoid today?
You quoted me. I responded to you. I forgot to quote your questions. When I posted, I saw that there was a post between us. To not cause confusion, I put your name. I think way to much has been read into this.
I still think that there should be tech reps and non tech reps. PM me all you want. I do not agree with the other thread. If it makes you happy it is all good. I do not post there.
As I said before, I actually like the stuff you post, I just do not agree with you on one thing. No big deal. Have a great day in the real world, I will.
I haven't actually ever used a negative feedback, but it has been used against me once. The gentleman apologized and made an attempt to remove it but couldn't. It didn't hurt my feelings because sometimes it is very hard to read emotion into words or see the smile behind the keyboard when no disrespect was intended. On the other hand, I have also never used the positive rep system either. I always thought it more personal to thank someone in the thread for their help for everyone to see. This also shows that their solution actually worked and others may want to try it also. That being said, I would like to thank all those who took time to leave that feed back for me. There are a great bunch of guys on here and I can't even begin to guess how much money I have saved by asking you guys (and gals) instead of a mechanic. Take care all.
Maybe a dumb question...but i have 5 or 6 rep. All green except 2? They are grey...do these mean negatives? If so that's pretty dang sorry. I re-read everything I wrote and it all seemed legit.
Grey are from new users. They don't count the same as green. Some "Newbies" credited you! Not Neg!
Awsome! You know I've been here since 2005 and i have never realized you could give any rep at all until I seen this thread. I am so greatfull I can't even describe for this site! It has saved me thousands over the years. Thank You!!
Well make sure to get rep's to those who helped you, and those that will help in future are deserving too! There are allot of very intelligent ppl on here, that help us all.

Search out the posts that helped you.
Give them rep.
You can go back to any of the posts.
You will be limited to 10 different users repped per day and you must rep 30 different users before you can repeat rep an individual.
I never said nor meant to imply that newbys didn't have useful information to offer and I do not agree that "plenty" of veterans are mean spirited and/or impatient. I have encountered some impatience occasionally but very seldom from veterans. The little impatience I've seen comes from newbys who come on here with a chip on their shoulder and expect instant cures with little information.
