Mystery Slots?

Mystery Slots?
Just picked up a '12 XLT and I noticed on the back of the console and on the passenger side of the console what I would call slots. It looks like something could be slid into these beveled slots like maybe added cupholders or something like that. Does anyone know what they're for? Thanks.
