Injector code question

Hello all,

I'm talking with Rosewood Diesel on getting stage 1.5 injectors for my truck. I've owned it since 2004 and have done a few mods to include a Bean's fuel system, BTS trans, AFE intake and MBRP exhaust with 3" DP into 4". I've run the Superchips programmer on safe tow for pretty much the last 6 years. I never really paid any attention to the injector code decal on the valve cover, but it has AB as big as day on it. My PCM code is TDE1 and the old fuel system never had the pulse dampener on it. No emissions sticker, but right side decal says the engine meets CA specs only for trucks over 14,000 GVW. All this tells me that it is Fed emissions vice CA, but why would it have split-shot injectors in it? Will need to pull the valve covers off this weekend to make sure, but are there any other 97 model owners that have experienced this? Thank you all.

Before you get tons of bad information I will say, without a doubt, that if you have a TDE1 PCM then you DO NOT have split shots. A truck originally equipped with split shot injectors will not have a TDE1 PCM.

Maybe someone changed engines at one time.

Thanks for the replies and the welcome. I have to agree that everything says 49 except for the one decal with AB on it. I will wait and see when I pull the valve covers off. Will post with what I find. Hoping for single shots. Thanks again to all.

Vince,
It really won't matter what we start with if you want Premium Stage-1.5 160/30%.
If they are AB the cost will be the same as if they are AA, so don't sweat it.

Pulled all 8 this morning and they are AA. The valve cover sticker with the AB threw me, but no issues. Will wrap and box carefully and send them off on Monday for the 1.5 build. Now I need to figure out which tunes I want from PHP. Thanks for all the replies.

We use 30% over nozzles in the Stage-1.5's, and yes I have a bunch of them.
