Axle Price

Hey guys! Iv got the oppertunity to buy a set of Ford axles: Dana 50 front and Sterling 10.25 rear. Both have 4.10 gears, the rear is a Posi (the reason for me wanting). Theyre in good shape. The owner didnt give me a price because hes not sure what theyre worth. I thought about it some and realized I didnt either! How much would this set usually run?

I would offer $650, but that's priced off what I would pay here.

Yeah, 500-650 would be a good price, depending on how rusty or roughed up they look. you can always sell your current axles to recoup whatever you spend anyway.

Thats about the price I had in mind: $500. Only thing I saw wrong with em is the rear passenger side brake had a leak. Should be a minor issue though

Dana 50 from a 99+ superduty/excursion? or Dana 50 TTB?

The TTB is worth SCRAP value. IE $25

The sterling 10.25 is worth about $100. They never go bad so the demand is WAY LOW

If you want the 4.10s, I'd say $500 is a good price. The Dana 50 TTB is nothing special, but regearing your existing axles and adding an LS will probably cost just as much or more, and you'll be paying somebody else for the work, rather than doing it yourself.

^^^ Thats what I was thinkin lol. And a lot less work. Heck, just the gears themselves are about $150 a piece! Then to get a LS or posi for the rear would be closer to $600

Between 4.10 and 3.55 the difference will be night and day. I went from 4.10 to 3.55 in my truck and it seems really gutless.

I went from 3.55s with 35 inch tires and I couldn't keep my 300-6 in 5th (ZF OD) unless the road was flat. 4.10s and I can burn first and second if I get on it. The change was like night and day but I also downsized my tires. Next tire change I will put on something bigger and it will be perfect I think.
