Post 6.9 starting problem

i have a 87 f 350 with a 6.9 L diesel in it with very few miles
when i rebuilt the motor i also changed the pump and injectors

so anyway it was running great until about two months ago i parked it recently i went to start the truck and now i cant get the pump to prime

there is fuel to the pump
there is a new filter
iv taken the top off the pump and checked the electric valves
iv presurized the tank
checked the fuel
and this is all ok

again ill say this pump is newly rebuilt
so the problem is in the pump from perhaps some water while it sat rusted something

i have taken the pump off the motor

anyway what im looking for is some info weather any one else has had the same problem and how the fixed it or a diagram of the pump insides
the pump # is available if needed

sorry for my typing im in a hurry

thanx in advance

6.9 starting problem

did you per chance try using a battery charger or jumper cables? did you try switching to the other fuel tank and crank for a short time? (be sure you dont burn out the starter.) you can try bleeding fuel from the filter housing at the little fitting to see if the lift pump is working. prob the best way to crank is to loosen all the injector lines on the nozzles. try to loosen the supply line from the tank to the lift pump and blow backwards, perhaps some junk is in the line. reconnect and try cranking again. if that doesnt get fuel up, then i would suggest a new lift pump.
