Anybody here used the new Duplicolor candy paint system? How well did it apply and how were the results? I want to get a black cherry look so I was wondering if it could be applied over say a flat black base with a pearl or metal flake in in the candy or 1st clear coat. Popa John
maybe I am missing something here, but Spies Hecker does make candies. I have sprayed a whole lot of vehicles with them as I paint in the collision industry.
As to the O.P., The duplicolor stuff is a ready to spray, basically a modern day Lacquer paint. It has no topcoating window. Me personally, I have sprayed it and dont like it. Personally I would spend the money on a good base/clear setup. Just remember that with paint, you get what you pay for. PPG is about all i spray these days. Spies Hecker is a division of DuPont to compete with other European paint lines like BASF's Glasurit
