I need traction bars on my f150. It has a 9 inch with 36 inch tires. I am considering a full traction bar setup from L&L or the Superlift system that bolts to the leaf pack then connects a rod to the frame. I have 450hp so wheel hop is a real problem.I like the L&L design for it's strength but the Superlift will have better clearance.Any suggestions?
I haven't had experience with either system you're talking about. However, today I just saw the Superlift setup you're talking about an a 78' F-150. It looks to be pretty stout and quite functional. After seeing it on a truck, thats the one I'll be going with.
I was suffering from bad wheel hop also. I mounted a set of the L&L ladder bars and am quite pleased. You do lose some clerance and wheel travel, for myself this was not an issue but something that should be thought about. Good luck.

so what would be the part # of this superlift traction bar....i have a 76 f 100 also with 36"s on a ford 9" and since i'm going mostly for sand duning wheel hop is a big issues....prices would also be cool. and installation time and so on if you guys decide to put them on.
The L&L ladder bars are longer than a normal ladder bar. If your lift is the only concern I would think that you would only end up mounting the front plate closer to the rear axle. If you want I can take some pics of mine and send to your e-mail.

That would be great at least I can get some idea of what they look like. I see from an earlier reply that it bolts to the leaf pack and then to the frame ? Shouldn't be much proble getting it in place with the fabtech lift since there isn's much obstruction aft of the Lift bracket. Go ahead a send me your pics. I'd like to see them.
By the way, What is the differance between ladder bars and traction bars? I have heard that you loose some articulation with the ladder bars. Is this true?
I took some pics tonight so I'll get those downloaded and mailed in the morning. The answer to losing suspension articulation is "Yes" you will. With everything being a trade off you have to decide if the loss of suspension travel is worth the gain in traction control. In the pictures you'll see that the ladder bar is mounted close to the spring pack. On the late '70's trucks this requires cutting the ear off the factory lift block. I don't know if yours will have the same.
