engine options vs weight
I have been looking for some info source that will tell me what the difference is in weight according to the engine option -- how much does the 7.3 PSD pkg weigh vs the 6.0 PSD vs the 6.8 V10 vs the 5.4 V8. It would seem to figure into the engine choice quandry so many have, AND might well be a consideration for shocks and springs choices as well. Anyone know where to find out? I have new 5.4 XLT SC SB coming in and noticed that many of the aftermarket lift kits/springs/shocks are labeled as applications for the v10 or diesel, and I wondered whether a potentially smaller, lighter front end would affect things [I mean, 2 extra cylinders have to weigh something, even with miracle alloys, huh?].
Thoughts appreciated.

Us slide-in haulers have to watch this overall weight, and was another reason I went V10 over diesel.
I vaguely recall someone saying the v10 was around 200 # heavier than the 5.4v8, but I hadn't realized how much difference between v10 and the 7.3v8PSD! Looks like there might be an added argument in favor of the 5.4, at least compared to the PSD: more available payload. That would make a difference for short-range contractors, etc., who don't happen to need the long road legs of the v10 or PSD. Wonder if there is significant weight difference between 6spd and the automagic?
Not that I'm trying to justify the 5.4 instead of 6.8v10 -- I simply don't need a high speed highway machine and the PSDs are not a safe enough bet if you are overnighting 80 miles from the nearest electrical outlet at 30 or 40 below.
Plus, I don't expect to haul more than 1500 lbs or so and then rarely.RR
The automatic does add weight and less rear wheel HP. It also may be easier to flow ATF at 30 below than gear oil though
