When looking at my truck from a distance as it goes down the road it appears that my front wheels are leaning out, i.e. top of tire in towards truck and bottom of tire out away from truck. I'm not very good at suspension problems...so, any insight or help would be appreciated...
I agree, your springs are weak and the front end is sagging. Because of the way the twin I beam front ends are made, a sagging spring will throw the alignment all off.
Get new springs, and it would be a good time to replace the radius arm bushings and axle pivot bushings with polyurethane replacements.
Actually, for proper terminology your tires are leaning IN... Or have excess negative Camber. Your tires should probably have a little negative camber in order to steer properly. Check the alignment specifications.
A 400 BB in a 100? What was the original motor? It sounds like the springs are overloaded. How does the truck ride in the front? A little soft? You may need to swap in some heavier duty springs. Maybe 250 springs or springs from a 75/6 150 with a 360 might work. You could also go to a spring and suspention shop and see what they might have to correct the problem. You can bend the I-beams only so far to align it.
