Hi, I am currently looking at a 2000 Ford F250 Super Duty Super Cab Short Bed, Gas, Automatic, 4X4,Off Road Pkg,Cold A/C,Sliding Rear Window,Power Windows,Power Door Locks,Power Steering,AM/FM, Running Boards,Hard Tonneau Cover,Bed Liner,Towing Pkg,Alloy Wheels... The interior has some cigarette burns... But here is my problem. It has 187,000 miles.. They are asking 4,490
I am new to Fords and was wondering;
When do problems start?
What will the first problems be?
How much is it to fix them?
How much is it to maintain them?
That price seems a little steep to me for a 12 year old 190,000 mile truck. I'm guessing it has the 5.4 wich is a very dependable motor. I would be concerned about the rest of the truck. First the shape of the front end parts, tie rods, ball joints, calipers, wheel bearings etc. Second would be the transmission, if properly serviced you'll get 250-300,000 miles out of it. Or you could find a local shop or take it to the dealer (for a fee) they will look it over if You don't feel comfortable. Aside from the common wear items on the front end the truck should last you a long time. 4000 is what I would be comfortable Paying. Just be prepared to replace little odds and ends!
I would walk away 2gs for tranny rebuld 2gs for used motor front end cost good too there is no cheap fix for these trucks back away fast look at more trucks
