Ken, the oil system is not separate in the HPOP, it is still supplied from the LPOP and is all the same oil. Goes from the HPOP through the injectors and drains back to the oil pan. So, a weak LPOP will cause the HPOP to run dry and shut truck down.

It might be easier to find a fitting to fit where the EOP sensor goes. You can remove the EOP sensor and use it to find a matchng fitting. If you are goig to use a mechanical gauge you won't need the EOP sensor anyway and can just re-install after testing.
