You talking about putting the 05 clip on the 99-04 truck? If so then you're in the wrong forum.
If you're talking about the SD grill and lights on an OBS then have fun.
ive heard rumors of putting 05 or newer front axle and suspension into our trucks? I have a 2wd 92 f250 with coil sprung front end and thought this would be something to look into when converting to 4wd this winter. dont know for sure tho. new to these forums and to ford but it was my grandpas truck so i want to fix it up right and keep it around a while
Sounds like a reasonable idea. Depends on how the radius arms mount on the two trucks, and the coil dia. and spacing. Then you will also be left with two different wheel lug patterns. But you could always swap the rear too.
That said, you could use any axle you want, provided you have the skill and knowledge.
This swap can be done and actually isn't incredibly difficult. While it is true that the radius arm mounts differently, it's not an issue.
You need everything from a parts truck. Axles front and rear, all springs including rear leaf springs, hangers, coil buckets, tie rods/drag link, track bar, radius arms, and radius arm brackets.
You'll take everything off your truck and bolt up the new parts. All the brackets will bolt on, but you'll have to drill new holes for most of it. I believe the track bar mount is a hit or miss thing whether or not it'll bolt on.
This is a link from a different forum. I know it's a diesel, but it's not going to be much different installing the same parts on your truck, even though his was 4wd to start with. 2005 Axle Swap - PowerStrokeArmy
