Have a guy working for me, on and off, whose daily, and only, driver is an 83 E100 stick shift, on the floor. Has the 4.9L I6. Right now he is grounded. The shaft on the clutch pedal broke right where the splines are machined on the right side. Looks like a fatigue failure right where there is a stress riser. But with 30 years and ?80,00 miles on it it doesn't owe much to anybody
So far locally can't find a new shaft or a pedal cluster. Around here lot of vehicles of this era that were running were baled when there was the govt campaign to get the old stuff off of the road.
I want to help if I can. Can anyone give me a clue as to possible interchange for this cluster? What years would interchange and would possibly the cluster from an F series of that vintage fit?
Better yet, does anybody have a pedal cluster they might sell reasonably. This guy obviously does not have deep pockets.
