68 ranger engine swap

I'm thinking about swapping my original 240 out for a 351W what are yalls thought on ditching a matching numbers motor for the winsor? Also have a couple questions about fit meant to my transmission I have a 3 on the tree and really don't want to mess with removing the clutch pedal and all that stuff right now will my bellhouseing , cluth assembly, and transmission bolt up to the winsor? Or should I be looking for a c4 or c6 trans and go ahead and swap out the colum for an automatic colum?

There ain't any matching numbers as far as motors/Ford trucks. With that said your truck do what you want.

The W should bolt up to the bell. You will need 302 engine perches from I believe 68-79. The swap shouldn't be very complicated using items for 302.

You are not going to hurt the value of the truck. IMHO

The only other part other than mentioned, is a V8 flywheel, the 300 will fit and work, but will shake your truck apart.

You can also use the perches/towers for 77-79 351M/400 trucks as per ND.

Thanks for your input I don't want to destroy the value of the truck swapping engines out just to say I have a winsor in it

Correctomondo! I left it out kinda as information overload. Sometimes you put in too much info and it can confuse. Stay simple.
