I have removed the manifold air intake heater and now I keep getting a check engine light code do to it being removed. I here there is a resister that can be put in place of the AIH. Can anyone confirm that a 470 ohm x 1/2 watt is the correct resistor?

 

Interesting. I have deleted my AIH and although it does create a "code" that is stored, it does not light the CEL.

Are you sure that is the only code?

Yep, invoice didn't list the code, but says Air intake heater missing. Talked with Riffraff Diesel and was told to Google the resistor mod as some trucks require it to keep the light off.

A few days ago it came on for about 30 min then went back off. Has not been on again yet. After the code was cleared it took about a month for it to return.

After the AIH was removed it took a couple of days for it to show up.
