1955 F100

Question, I have a 1955 F100 Custom Cab with the original grill, I had what I thought was another grill in better shape that I planned on using however when I compared them side by side, the orange grill which I thought came of a 55 F100 is shorter, any idea what the orange grill is off of? Looks like its about 6 inches shorter.

Could it be a Delivery Van grill? I know those are shorter, but I thought they were shorter than that. If I recall correctly, they used the 55 grill for many years.

Man I have no idea, it's a perfect grill, I was planning on using it to replace the one I had and was going to drill out the holes for the chrome wings and that's when I noticed it was different.

thanks

Why do you think no one reproduces this grill, the only new ones I can find are for the 56.

I keep telling people to hand wash their grilles in cold water with Woolite, but do they listen?

I'm guessing it's the narrower delivery grille. It's a common mistake that's real easy to make. Whoda guessed that Ford made different ones.

56 was the first all chrome grill. people want the bling! No demand for repro painted grills since OEM ones are easy to come by and restore.
