I have been trying to decide for three years about lifting the F-250. I have read almost every post on this forum that has to do with Tires and Lifts. I have an 09 Crew Cab with the 5.4 Gas Motor and 373 Gears. I finally made up my mind and went with the Icon Vehicle Dynamics 2.5 Leveling Kit with the 5 inch Blocks. Toyo Open Country MT 35x12.5x20 tires and stuck with my Stock Rims. I wanted to be able to post this thread, so anyone that was window shopping for smaller lifts and upgrades could have some visual reference of the finished product. The first two pictures will be the side by side before and after. Then I will post some more pictures of every side just to give a good feeling for the finished project.
Overall height net was close to 5 inches. With the Gas motor, the 5inch blocks and the tires.
Gas mileage has not suffered, I took a 2 hour trip on Sunday and the MPG was 12.9, it is usaully 13.3. I will keep my eye on a total tank and report back at some point.....
Looks real nice!! Did your truck come with the snow plow option? I have an 08 F250 crew with the 5.4 and have been debating about doing a small lift myself. My truck currently sits perfectly level due to the front snow plow springs that the truck was optioned with. I was curious if yours was setup the same.
Good call on the 5" rear block.
It was the route I went with my truck when I did the 2.5" Icon.
Our trucks are very similar, save I have stock 18" wheels and 35" Nittos. Your mileage is better than mine, however. I'm sitting around 10mpg combined with a heavy foot in town. I can only break 12mpg if I run straight highway at 65mph. Not happening around here as the limit is 75mph (and I drive about 5 over).
This is great. I have been back and fourth looking at all the posts as well. Truck really looks great. With the 2.5 lift Did up grade/add anything like the pan rod bar. Or is your kit just coils, alignment cams, blocks and shocks.
Love the look! I plan on doing the same when my daughter gets a bit older. The wife is 4'11" and with a newborn to put up in the SD now is kinda a pain.
