Site glitches

Hi,

Trying not to really whine, but I thought that I'd mention a couple of things.

I frequently lurk when I visit fte unless I have something to say. (Note that I didn't qualify it as something intelligent to say )

Anyway, when I first open the forums, I get repeated notes about the new IB privacy policy. I click later a few times, and it eventually gives up.

But, why would a 'guest' care about the privacy policy? And, how would FTE know if he or she actually read it?

The second thing is an ad that shows up -- worse yet it's a Ford ad. ( I know, log in)

But, it covers half of whatever post I'm looking at -- and there's no apparent close spot. It does go away if I refresh. ( But, it may appear on the next thread that I open).

fte is still my fav,

hj

until you read the privacy policy it will pop up. once you read it it will set a cookie on your machine and then you will no longer see it.

as far as the ads go, it costs money to run this site, and it has to come from somewhere. supporters don't see ads. for $19 per year, it is ad free.

I don't care about the ads -- I've been a supporter and might be again. This one was just a little more aggressive.

As for the cookies, well maybe. But, why does IB care if a guest has read the privacy policy?

Note, I'm not really complaining. FTE is the most well run site that I've found.
Also, probably the most civil.
