I have a Ford F150 Pick-up.. and I am fed up with my truck.. I can't seem to find out what is wrong with it.. Can you please help me?
Here are the symptoms:
It feels like it misses.. like the timing is off
when you accelerate.. and hold a speed.. it feels like it's choking.. and hesitating.. doesn't matter what speed.. when I press the gas faster it stops from doing that.. or when I take my foot off the petal... it has stalled out a couple of times going around corners... and when in park it feels rough idling..
ANY IDEAS???
We tried everything!!!!.. plugs, wires changed, Throttle body cleaned, Air hoses, vacuum hoses checked - we did spraying, cleaning you name it! We should have the cleanest Ford in Canada!..LOL
Try removing the vacuum line on the EGR valve and go for a test drive to see if it runs better with the EGR disconnected. The check engine light will come on but don't worry - it will go out after you hook the vacuum hose back up.
I've had similair problems with similiar trucks. Sounds it may be a clogged catalytic converter or fuel filter. These are both easy to check. You can replace the filter pretty easily and cheaply. To check the converter, diconnect the whole exhaust system from the manifold and take it for a ride. It'll be loud but if that is the problem, it will run better. Then again niether of these may be the problem. This is just what would I check. Post results. Good luck!
What I thought it might be... the TCC (Torque converter Clutch)... from what I read these are similar symptoms... But my husband says it seems more like an engine miss... we are taking it in to Ford tomorrow and they are going to take it for a test drive to see what is going on... I will keep you all posted!
