Score!!!

So I just purchased a 09 F350 frame, axles, springs, and drive shafts for $350... plus a bit of barter.

Manual locking hubs too...

87,000 miles

That's a heck of a deal! Sounds like you have some work to do...

yea... I gotta find a 4x4 e40d and a transfercase with linkage... now...

I kinda stumbled onto the deal and wasn't really looking. I eventually wanted to swap to 4x4 and 05+ axles but I just bought new tires. so... It will likely sit in the garage for a good while I collect the other parts.

I fear I may be in tranny trouble at some point in the next year or two so I have my eyes out for a core to build.

Wow, that is a great deal. I wonder if it was the same body style, if you could put the obs body on the newer frame? Build some motor/trans/body mounts, steering, etc. Take some more fabbing for sure, but if the wheelbase is somewhat close, anything is possible..

it was a single cab short bed gas motor truck... totally incompatible. We cut up the frame.

Cut out the center pieces and then cut each side into 3 pieces. That way I have the front and rear mounts and dimensions if I need them...

I'll use the steel for something at some point.

I thought so... The guy had his truck stolen and he bought it back from the insurance for $1200 (I saw the paperwork).

They took the engine and some parts of the interior and the bed.

By the time I got to it he just wanted to get rid of it... as part of the barter I helped him break down most of the other parts. spent a weekend helping him... it was 107 degrees out.... but worth it.
