I have the jag front end mounted except to install clips on the torsion bar and box the frame. The 289 is ready to pick up from the rebuilders right away and bolt to the tranny for fit up of the motor mounts and tranny cross member. Could some of you post pics of your motor mounts? I would like to use the original style of mount if possible. If not I have the jag mounts and could do like Jeff (Jeff and Nichole) has done but would really like to see some other options as well. Hope some of you can help.
If you have issues with your oil pan and your 289 will accept it, find an oil pan from a 5.0 explorer if possible. They fit the JAG really nice. Of course everybody has a little different location. some mounted higher or lower, more forward or back. Pay attention to the rear of your drivers side head. it sits back farther than the passenger side. Mine clears by about 1/2". I would prefer a little more, but...here is a pic of the pan.
These are easy and only use the original block mount not the motor mount. They can be welded or bolted, I welded them solid.
Hey Bill, I would like to see more of the mount that is welded to the frame. I wish I would have seen these pictures before I made my own...they really do look good! who make them/ sells them ?

I'm with Jeff. These look like a good simple mount to use. Where did you get them or did you make them?

Thanks for this Jeff. The motor is about ready to pick up from the rebuilders and I knew this was going to become an issue. I had checked the ones out at summit and I also read that some of the 351's had rear sump pans that would work. The more info the better...

No problem! I sent you a PM too.
Just stay away from the mid sump truck oil pans. they are too close to the rack n pinion. And IIRC..the 351W and 302 do not use the same pan.
any other questions for me, I will be glad to help! But I am not a JAG expert by any means, so if anybody else has input, please jump in.
Jeff,
I have a 302 with coil front end in my 52. Rack power steering and got the pan off of something that had the rear sump.l l don't have a clue what to do about the P/S pump. I call the junk yards and they just laugh at me with all the pulley arrangements, mounts, etc.l that were used.

Jeff, The mounts are the simple mounts that everyone sells that have a 90 degree bracket that welds or bolts to the frame rail.
