I read the tech guide on the head bolts...My question is; You first torque 1-10 to 65 ft lbs. Step 2 says 1-10 to 85 ft lbs. Now is there a time factor in there or do you just do 1-10, then go back and do it again to 85 ft lbs.
Sorry for the question, just never been to this point in my 6.0.....
PS, bought new head instead of used.....Fixing to back together.
nope just do them again. no need to wait. also dont forget you will need to turn each one 90* 3 times for a total of 270*. do them in steps with good even pulls. yeilding in this ( the correct fasion) pulls the head down evenly.
you said nothing bout studs, you stated bolts,
70 then 140 then 210 is how I do them.
..... and that's how I do them too. I was kind of wondering myself why you would be installing the original head bolts back into this engine when I first read your initial post.
