Here you go;

9 = 1949-1950 model year. (The numbers were carried over for the '50 model year)

8E = 337 cu. in. V8

Q = F7/8 series trucks

41040 = consecutive unit number

That's all there is.

Thanks,
I was told it was a 1950 but I wasn't sure.
Does 41040 seem more like a '49 or a '50?

Here is a picture

littlered, you can post a picture on photobucket and supply a link. You don't have enough posts to place one here yet.

it's a higher number, so I'd say '50

Hard to say. It would depend on assembly plant, and if the Big Job trucks were issued different series of numbers than the smaller trucks. There's not enough data to go by to even make an educated guess. If you were told 1950, and have any kind of paperwork to back it up, I'd go with it.
