Initial Acceleration Problem

My 2005 6.0L diesel (94K) seems to have acceleration problems. I can't get on the pedal and feel comfortable that I can pull out into faster traffic. When I'm already on the road my acceleration seems to be okay although it isn't what it used to be when I first bought it. Everything is stock except for the AFE cold air intake and the new head gasket I just replaced. Any ideas or suggestions on where to start? Thanks!

I am having a similar experience since i bought mine 2 a half years ago. Gonna clean my egr valve and ebp sensor. My sgII shows high ebp and i am researching that subject now.

A little more info please. Have you scanned it for codes? Does it boost ok (if you have a gauge). Do you know what the fuel pressure is or did you do the blue spring while you were working on it? Any smoke on start up hot or cold? Maybe black smoke pulling hills? EGR valve cleaned while it was taken apart? Does it start good hot and cold? Does it seem to shift correctly (if automatic trans?).
