Hey guys I just got a new Air Cleaner and I have never done this before. I am replacing the original with an chrome one.
-I think I already know the answer this but it seems to sit way low over the carb do I need to buy a base plate to help it sit higher?
-Then my passenger valve cover the breather has a hose the would connect to the old air cleaner but my new one doesn't have a place to connect the hose to. Do I just need to buy a breather cap or a breather filter?
-Finally the hose that is connected to the engine that would connect to the engine to what do I do with that now?
This is all for a Ford F150 Custom w/ 351 M 5.8L 2BB

Get a breather cap with a filter inside.

Not sure what you mean by "hose connected to the engine that would connect to the engine."
Any chrome ones i bought new had an adapter that you installed in the air cleaner for the hose . There were instructions showing how it attached. You can get risers to raise the air cleaner up .
You'll make more power and economy with a ducted enclosed cold air filter vs an open element... But ya, there are plenty of options to get the right height and hook up that hose...
