Hi All,
Near the bottom of the left B pillar on my 1999 E-250 are two unused connectors. Since these are located near where I will be install an electrical panel for my RV conversion I wanted to find if there was anything there that I might be able to use. I looked through my 1998 Econoline "Electrical Vaccum and Troubleshooting Manual" and found that the connectors are listed as C301 and C302.
The circuit number for each pin on the connectors are identified (on page 150-21 and 22) but the problem is I can't find a way to cross reference the circuit numbers. Looked through the manual several times but the only way I've found to track a circuit number is look for it on each page. There must be a better way.
Thanks for your time.
Dave
Dave I've checked my printed '00 EVTM as well as the '97 CD-ROM (both very close to your chassis) and neither specify what those connectors fit---WOW was all I could say. I'm guessing they could be for a rear heater/AC unit, delayed illumination module/RKE or perhaps speaker connections. There's just no way of telling with our respective publications.
95e150CW has an extensive library on the E-Series chassis---maybe PM him or perhaps he'll add something soon.
Sorry I can't be more help but thought I'd at least echo those connectors don't seem to be assigned anything, not that I can find anyway.
I pulled it up in the Ford software. Those connectors show as being used for various circuits on a cutaway/upfittable chassis. Radio, lights, etc. When I get back to the farm this afternoon I will post details.
If you give me a specific circuit number or pin number on the connector I can pull it up.
Thanks for all the input guys.
@95e150CW: I'm actually interested in all of the pins on the connector since I don't know what any of them do. Once I know what each circuit is then I might come up with a use for it. At the moment I have need for BATTERY, AUX, RUN and START but I might come up with an idea for HIGH BEAM if it was handy. Making this up as I go.
I seem to recall it was interior lights, not chassis lights. There might be headlights signal via interior/dash lights. I'll take a peek again. I doubt you will find 12v batt and IGN switched batt on those connectors. Most certainly not enough amperage for power distribution. The ford software just lets me click checkboxes and view all associated circuits for the connector. I'll post a PDF this afternoon.
Okay, seems those are special connectors which are detailed in guide I do not have (A guide for manufacturers). Here is what my software says about them:
C302 is found in these cells:
013-003: Power Distribution
013-010: Power Distribution
013-028: Power Distribution
053-001: Heater
054-001: Air Conditioner/Heater
071-002: Instrument Illumination
Thanks 95e150CW. I've updated the above post with the info you provided. Tracing diagrams in this manual too long gives me a headache. I'll tackle C302 tomorrow.
